2004 Narkoojee Shiraz($20)
The Gippsland winery, Narkoojee, is kicking goals at the
moment with some rich, textural chardonnay and elegant,
herbal, curranty cabernet. This shiraz - from a vineyard
near Bairnsdale - is a very good example of the spicy,
medium-bodied cool-climate style, with powdery oak
texture and lovely floral, peppery characters.
