Narkoojee Myrtle Point Shiraz 2004
East Gippsland was a thriving wine region in the 19th
century. But changing tastes saw its demise. We are now
seeing a gradual return to favour, and Narkoojee is one
of the vanguards. I cannot think of a better style to
demonstrate the way the succulent fruit can sorbet the
palate after tasting spicy food. The aroma is black
pepper mixed with dark berries. Fruit flavour crawls
around the palate in an explosion of fruit with
subliminal tannins. Your lips may not get bigger, but
you’ll feel like licking them.
