The fruit for this wine from the excellent 2024 season, was handpicked from our estate plantings.  Two selected hogshead barrels with 50 % new, were chosen for this wine.   It is named in honour of Maxwell Friend, the grandson of founders Val and Harry Friend.  Fermented by wild yeasts indigenous to our vineyard, it is an intense wine of outstanding length, complexity and balance and will reward cellaring for many years
